This weekend, we hit the road to go to Columbus, Ohio to attend the Anderson Family Reunion and to spend a little time at Alum Creek State Park where Mom, Dad and Jenna were camping.
To make our 4-hour round-trip time on the road more interesting, we thought we'd take a picture to mark the passing of each hour and to help pass the time...so here's what we came up with:
Hour 1....
Hour 2...
Hour 3....
Hour 4....
The reunion was good. It was nice to see the usual Anderson family, and catch up (and sometimes meet for the first time) some extended Anderson relatives.
But once 4 o'clock rolled around, we were ready to head back to the campsite and just relax, play some cornhole and visit. We retreated to the air-conditioned camper because the temps outside were HOT.
Little Dora was one hot dog! "Where's the pool?"
Big Ava enjoying the view.
And here's my amazing non-camping husband...
Jenna and Dora like to cool off inside...
And Jenna also loves to stuff her face with Scotcheroos. She doesn't do hard drugs or heavy alcohol, but the girl can't stay away from the peanut butter, chocolate and butterscotchy goodness. I don't blame her; I'm a recovering addict myself.
Then, Tim and I decided to make the trip back home. We left warm, sunny Columbus to go back to hot, humid and stormy Akron. Here's what it looked like driving into the impending storm (plus a passenger-side view of what it's like to be in the car with us when we're on the road to Toledo or Buffalo).
Don't you just love how Dora doesn't move? She's completely knocked out once the car gets moving. Easiest passenger dog in the world.
And in case you want more of what it's like to ride with us, here's what I usually see in my mirror:
Don't worry. She's get lots of love, kisses and pets for being this calm and cute.
All-in-all, it was a great Saturday and now we're back home enjoying a lazy Sunday before starting another week!
