Our dining room has sat empty since the day we moved in. I guess I should clarify empty...it was empty of proper dining room furniture, but always seemed to be cluttered with other junk that was in transition to another room. It never seemed to be a major priority because Tim and I ate all our meal outside on the deck or at the dinette in the kitchen. However, we were planning on hosting some VIPs for the holiday weekend and thought we better have some additional seating. :)
Last weekend, my parents sent me a text message with a picture of a beautiful dining room set for sale as a floor model in at an outlet furniture store in Perrysburg. It was the perfect size for our somewhat small dining room and my parents even offered to transport it in their camper for us if we wanted it. We debated and discussed and measured and finally we were sold on the set, even though we'd never seen it.
So T&J Furniture Movers showed up on Saturday....
(They've always threaten to show up outside my house one day with the camper and stay for a weekend...or a month. The look on their faces says they see that as a real possibility now.)
We unloaded the table and chairs and loved what we saw. Here's the dining room's fairy tale finish...
It started out as an ugly duckling:
Then got a visit from the fairy godmother of paint:
Then finally grew up to realize it's full potential as a dining room:
The dining room transition is almost complete. With some blinds, shades or curtains yet to be determined and possibly a rug and more artwork, as well as a disappearing act performed by the chandelier, this room is well on it's way to being as glamorous as it was meant to be.
