At the very top of the stairs, you see directly into one of the bedrooms.
This particular bedroom was painted a minty green when we moved in here, complete with matching minty green sheer curtains. I never minded the room, I mean, I would have loved to change it, but it wasn't necessarily a priority like the other rooms in the house.
But in Tim's mind, it needed to disappear.
He did a fake shudder every time he walked into the room. He hated. this. room.
Since the room was a relatively manageable size and I was now well-schooled in painting 101, I decided to tackle the room myself. There were several scuff marks on the wall, so even though I didn't mind the color, the room just needed a fresh coat of paint to clean it up.
Here is is getting closer...
We picked Mt. Rainer for the color because it was a nice blue gray, although the end product turned out to be much bluer than we expected.
See, it's just a subtle change.
I think once we get some blinds up, the color will tone down considerably. This room gets the sun in the afternoon and evening and it is very bright. The color also changes in look from a subtle, calming blue in the morning, to a blue, blue, blue room by afternoon. It's still growing on me, but I think it looks a bit better!
