We've been very fortunate since we moved into the house to have a revolving door of family visitors to keep things interesting.
This weekend we had Jenna visiting and a first-time Northeast Ohio visitor, Cory. Cory is heading to The Ohio State University in the fall so we were glad to spend some time with him this summer before he heads off to college (and forgets all about us). He was with us for the 4th of July party and we invited him to come back. I was so excited when I got his text message early last week saying he'd be able to come.
The weather was gorgeous both Saturday and Sunday and since we were hosting a very active teenager, we kept all our activity outdoors.
We enjoyed several two-on-two sand volleyball games, where Tim wrenched his back and felt it the next day, Jenna wiffed a ball and now her wrist is a little tender and my inner thighs were crying out for mercy. We then took refuge from the sun to go see Toy Story 3 (pack your Kleenex if you go) and finished off the night with dinner outside...
(Cory did a mini-workout before dinner)
....a game of Scrabble out on the deck until dark and then built a campfire and told scary stories. Check out Cory's wild pants seen below...that was probably the scariest part of the night. We all encouraged him NOT to wear those at Ohio State. He might get beat up.
The weekend was also filled with lots of dog love. We can't forget that Jenna and Dora are completely inseparable when in each other's company. On Monday morning, Dora went into the room where Jenna stayed to see if she was still there; that's how much they love each other.
So that's how we spent our weekend. How did you spend yours?
